Easy Beach Make-Up
While I'm enjoying some beach time on the islands near Boston, Briana from Royally Pink is taking over the blog today. She'll be showing us how to get an easy natural and smear-free beach make up look just in time for the first day of summer on Saturday!
With summertime comes summer heat and the heat means one thing--beach days! The beach is the perfect place to relax, unwind and spend some time alone or with your friends. There are few things that people dislike about beach days spent tanning and in the water; how can you possibly be in a bad mood at the beach?

With summertime comes summer heat and the heat means one thing--beach days! The beach is the perfect place to relax, unwind and spend some time alone or with your friends. There are few things that people dislike about beach days spent tanning and in the water; how can you possibly be in a bad mood at the beach?
Knowing what to wear to the beach is easy: a bikini, flip flops and a fabulous cover up. Throw in a baseball hat, sunglasses and some sun screen and you've got it all down pat.
There is though, something difficult that comes along with going to the beach and that's what to put on your face. I, like many other ladies out there, really don't like to leave the house without some sort of makeup on. I might sound superficial but some girls just love wearing makeup everyday.
Knowing what kind of makeup to wear to the beach is very tricky. You can't be overdone because you'll look silly and you don't want to wear something that you wear everyday or that will be smear down your face in the heat and water.
There are a few simple products that could help make your beach makeup natural and smear free.
1. BB Cream: Wearing a light weight BB cream to the beach is the perfect solution to those foundation heads. If you simply cannot leave the house without foundation, wearing BB Cream is the next best thing. It has all the wants of a foundation but with added moisturizer and SPF. Most BB Creams don't have a thick consistency but still hold up against the heat. My favorite BB Creams are the Urban Decay Naked BB Cream and the Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream.
2. Waterproof Eyeliner and Mascara: I think if you're going to go bare face at the beach, a simple dash of eyeliner and mascara can really make your face look put together. The dangerous part of this is that you need to make sure that the products are waterproof otherwise you'll look like a raccoon. I haven't found an eyeliner that lives up to their waterproof name butBenefit's BadGal Waterproof Mascara stands the testament of time. I brought it on Spring Break with me and it was the best mascara for the beach, pool, and humid weather.
3. Lip Balm/Lip Conditioner: You need to hydrate your lips when you're in the sun. Finding a lip balm with SPF and a strong conditioning feeling is important. To complete the "makeup" look, get a tinted lip balm that has all the benefits of SPF and moisture. I like the Nivea Tinted Lip Balms or my personal favorite, Maybelline Baby Lips.
4. Blotting Papers: These are the essential for all types of summer fun. Bringing along oil blotting papers will be a lifesaver to your makeup and your skin. When you start to sweat or your skin starts to get a little oily, these will absorb all the oil from your skin and refresh your face. Pair this with a water mist and you'll be good to go. My favorite blotting papers are the ones from Clean and Clear; I've been using them ever since I was 13 years old and they work every time.
What are your favorite beach makeup items?
