Looking for the perfect skirt to wear during the holiday season?  These are some of my favorites.  Can we just focus on that elephant skirt for a moment?  It's at the very top of my list because it's basically perfect.  It's time to begin planning your Christmas party attire!

Which is your favorite?

Stay Tuned!

If you HATE soft gooey cookies that epitomize fall with every bite, spending quality time with your family, and consuming loads of food with the people you are most thankful for to kick off the holiday season then feel free to just click out of this post so as not to waste your time (I'll spare you my opinions of how crazy I think you are). However, if that has your mouth watering and leaves you with a warm and fuzzy feeling then you should probably stick around.

I just adore Thanksgiving. We always do pretty much the same thing each year and I love the consistency of the holiday. Today, I am so excited to share with y'all the easiest and tastiest cookie recipe that will surely impress your friends and family. These cookies taste like fall in every bite and remain soft and spongy even a couple of days after making them! My friends and I first discovered these when our friend Olivia's mom made them for us, before we could even finish our first cookie we were already begging for the recipe! I could gladly eat 6 in a sitting (Honestly though, I could probably do that for any delicious cookie but these especially!). One of the factors that makes these so simple is that they derive from a box mix, yes, you heard me right! And for any of you gluten free girls these will quickly become your favorite treat as well. I am encouraging you now to stock up on enough pumpkin for a whole year because once you try these you'll be hooked (you can hate me or thank me later for this because either is equally as flattering in this case)!

The ingredients are more than likely products that you already have on hand with it being the holiday season, for one batch you will need…

1 box of Betty Crocker Gluten Free Chocolate Chip Cookie Mix (sometimes this isn't right next to her original bag mix but you should be able to find it on the same aisle)
3/4 cup canned pumpkin (not pumpkin pie mix)
1 egg
1/4 cup butter, softened
1 teaspoon of vanilla
Extra Chocolate Chips, I used Nestle milk chocolate morsels (the more the merrier when it comes to chocolate chips)
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Powdered sugar if desired to sprinkle on the top (such a yummy touch)

Directions…

First, heat the oven to 350 degrees and grease your cookie sheets
Second, in a large bowl, stir pumpkin, butter, vanilla and egg until blended. Stir in the cookie mix and cinnamon until dough forms. Drop the dough by rounded tablespoons 2 inches apart on cookie sheets.
Lastly, depending on how large your cookies are, bake 10 to 12 minutes or until almost no indentation remains when lightly touched in center and edges are golden brown.

Now enjoy your cookies and bribe someone else to clean up your mess!

Happy Thanksgiving week friends! Now that we are in the homestretch and the day of being thankful is just upon us, I thought it would be the perfect time to share my tips and tricks for getting into the holiday spirit this season. In my family, we always go out and pick a tree as well as decorate the house the day after Thanksgiving, so all the excitement for Christmas starts right after we are done feasting. That being said, now is the time to gather ideas for decorating and making your home feel a little more festive to get the excitement going!

+ Make a Christmas playlist
Pandora is my absolute favorite music website because it lets you specify which genre of music to stick to, but always surprises you with old favorites and new recommendations. Create a Holiday playlist and blast it when you're in the shower, doing homework or in the car running errands.
(Michael Buble's Christmas channel is my personal favorite!)

+ Decorate a tree
Is there anything more fun than decorating your Christmas tree while belting out some tunes? You don't have to just stop at the big tree in your house - Target has a bunch of small trees for as little as $10.

+ Pick out a seasonal candle
I'm not usually one for candles but during this time of the year, nothing is better than the warm, scented feel of a little light next to you. Sometimes lighting a gingerbread candle on your desk while doing homework is just the right motivation to get you through finals.

+ Make a bucket list
In the fall (and even the summer), I always have so many fun ideas of what I want to all do throughout winter, but I can never remember them when it actually comes time to do them! This year, I made a bucket list of every thing I want to do, whether it be a movie marathon with friends, ice skating or a new recipe to try. That way, if I have a day with nothing to do, I can check some of the items off my list!

+ Deck out your bedroom
This is perhaps my favorite part of the day after Thanksgiving I mentioned. I get out my little tree and tie bows with pink and green ribbon instead of ornaments, hang up some lights around my window and maybe add a furry throw or blanket to my bed to make my room feel extra cozy. To be honest, I'm thinking about doing a separate post entirely dedicated to decorating your room for Christmas! Let me know if you're interested :)

+ Stock up on festive treats
Lastly, it wouldn't be the holiday season without gingerbread men, marshmallow hot chocolate or chocolate peppermint bark. Search for some recipes on Pinterest and give them a try - definitely a fun Sunday morning task!

Now please enlighten me: what do you do to get in the holiday spirit?!

When it comes to finding the perfect Thanksgiving outfit, I tend to go for comfort and cozy. My family usually spends the holiday at home, watching football and chowing down on some good home cooking. With such an informal setting, my outfit of choice is usually jeans and an oversized sweater. It's the perfect combo for a day of relaxation, family time and scrumptious food. I found this Forever 21 poncho and paired it with a simple striped tee. To dress it up a bit, I added a gold bow belt and J.Crew flats. I love the versatility of this poncho. You can wear it flowy and open as how it's intended, or belt it back for more of a fitted sweater look. Either way, it'll be the perfect attire for Thanksgiving Day.

Can you believe that it's time to start thinking about gift giving already? I'm one of those people who really dislikes dealing with the hustle and bustle of the holiday season, so I try my best to buy everything early and as much of it online as I can!Does that make me sound like a grinch?!  There's something I like about being able to research my purchases, look at customer reviews, and purchase in the comfort of my home (and usually in yoga pants!)

So, for those of you who are like me and want to do your holiday shopping online I have compiled a lot of Gift Guides to help you navigate your holiday shopping list! We all know the holidays are supposed to be an enjoyable time, so let me help you take a little bit of stress off and find the perfect gifts for you. I will be back every week with a different gift guide and you can find more ideas on my Pinterest boards where there are gift guides as well!
C.Wonder "bling" trinket tray ($20) | Baublebar Minerva Fringe necklace ($44) | Kate Spade card holder ($48) |bareMinerals lipgloss set ($26) | Anthropologie coffee mug ($10) | Sonix phone case ($35) | J.Crew portable charger ($39.50) | S'well Bottle ($35) | Kate Spade earrings ($38) | Voluspa Candle Set ($50)

Crimson Tide Cardigan c/o // Booties (similar) // My favorite pair of denim skinnies // Kate Spade Sunnies // Tory Burch Tote- no longer available.  You can buy mine for $320 (retail $550) or check out this similar one // David Yurman Albion Ring Lips: Marvelous Moxie: Maverick

Yesterday my friend Chelsea (from soon-to-be-launched blog www.belleinblack.com) and I set out on a mission in downtown Sarasota to find some perfect locations for outfit pictures.  When we spotted these red steps we knew it would be perfect for this outfit!  Even though it was 100 degrees (no joke) I had to share this Shop Blue Avenue Crimson Tide Cardigan with you!  Besides being versatile and gorgeous it is seriously so soft.  It feels like the softest sweatshirt ever, but sooo much cuter!  In fact, as I write this I have it across my legs as a blanket.  Even though it will be a few more months before I can wear this outside in South Florida, it will definitely be the first item to come out when it finally hits 70 degrees!  I paired it with my favorite jeans, and my large Tory Burch Robinson tote!  It was the perfect fall outfit...if only it were actually fall! ;)
