DIY Statement Necklace
Supplies:
Acrylic Paint
Clear Glossy
Paint
Beads
Teardrop
Pendants
Jump Rings
Ribbon/Jersey
Fabric
Start out by
painting the pendants..make sure they fully dry in between coats..this is after
1 coat (I did 3 total) After the acrylic paint has dried, apply the clear glossy
coat
Start stringing
your beads together..the beads I used were already on clear plastic wire so I
just used that and strung the pendants on to it after attaching the jump
rings.
After both strands
were done, I tied the plastic wire together
I ended up cutting
an old tshirt up to make the jersey material to use for the ties
I created a loop in
the plastic wire and tied the jersey ties to it

When I was heading off to College for the first time last year, one of my biq questions was how much money do I need in my bank account. So in hopes of helping some of you as you start college this fall, I will show you what you need to do and know how much you will need to put away from your summer job(s).
For privacy reasons, I have not included the numbers. I urge you to look at your typical spending in a month. How many times did you visit Starbucks or Dunkin Donuts? How much is your shampoo and make-up? Feminine products and prescriptions? Did you bring your car? Are you joining a sorority? Be realistic, in my experience you tend to spend more in college than you think you will need. Make a spreadsheet and calculate it out for the time you are at college.
This is a quick spreadsheet I made up on common college expenses. The last line shows you roughly how many weeks in each. This should give you a good idea of how much you will need.
For spending money, look at your shopping habits, if you are a shopaholic like me, then you will need to try and be reasonable in college. Also consider this category your anything "extra." Money to go out at night? Travel? Anything you think you may want to do or spend money on.
Also, if you are considering applying for a job on campus, I would say do not calculate that in until you are positive you have it. You don't want to rely on something that you are unsure of.
If anyone has any questions or wants a little extra help in determining a rough estimate of how much they will need, please don't hesitate to e-mails me (samantha@subtlyfabulous.com). I am happy to answer questions within reason and that respect both mine and your privacy.

gold. platinum. silver. by enh410 featuring kate spade jewelry
Written by Emily from Life with Emily
I have been watching so much Olympic coverage.
Since it only happens once every four years, it is ok to indulge...or
over-indulge in my case! In spirit of the Olympic medals (who wouldn't want one
of those?) I have found myself loving everything gold and silver...and platinum,
well, because I just love it! There are so many ways to incorporate gold,
platinum, and silver into your every day wear.

Sarah from Simply Sarah posted a great recipe that we just had to share with y'all!!
Written by Sarah from Simply Sarah
Ingredients-
-
4 small zucchini, sliced into 1/4 inch rounds
-
2 tablespoons olive oil
-
1 teaspoon crushed red pepper
-
2 cloves garlic, crushed
-
2/3 cup grated Parmesan
-
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
-
2 tablespoons kosher salt
-
1 pound cheese ravioli
-
3 tablespoons chopped fresh flat-leaf parsley
Directions-
1.
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Bring a large pot of water
to
a boil. Place the zucchini in a baking dish in a single layer.
2.
Drizzle with the oil. Top with crushed red pepper, garlic, 3 tablespoons of the
Parmesan,
pepper, and 1/2 teaspoon of salt.
3.
Roast zucchini for 20 minutes, tossing halfway through, until tender
and
just golden brown.
4.
Meanwhile, add the ravioli and remaining salt to boiling water.
Return
to a boil, stirring frequently to prevent ravioli from sticking.
5.
Cook ravioli for 3 minutes after they begin to float.
Drain
and place in a large bowl.
6.
Toss the ravioli gently with roasted zucchini, half the parsley,
and
half the remaining Parmesan. Serve immediately
with
remaining parsley and Parmesan.
Serves 4.
