The Monogrammed Life

Friends I'm so excited to launch my holiday content today on the blog!! It's hard to believe that Thanksgiving & Christmas are only a few weeks away and I'm here to get you prepped and ready have the best holiday season yet! From gift guides, to style, to advice on making the most of the season, Girl Meets Bow is going to have y'all covered from head to toe (and everything in between)! Throughout the season if you want to reference any content, just head on up to the menu bar and hover over "Holidays" and then pick what you're looking for from the drop-down menu- easy as can be!

So were kicking off today with a personal favorite of mine... personalized gifts aka monogrammed heaven! You know I live by Reese Witherspoon's mantra, "If it isn't moving, monogram it!" and I've converted many of my friends and family over to this mentality as well :) There's something so extremely thoughtful about monogrammed or personalized gifts because the receiver knows that you had to plan ahead to make it happen. I also love that it instantly makes every gift a one-of-a-kind!

**Note: Everything in the board above comes in multiple colors- so click on over to see all your choices!**

ONE| Tote Bag $39.99
I can't think of a single woman I know who doesn't carry her whole life in her purse... so why not help her do it in (personalized) style?! There is so much room in here and the tassel detailing on the side is chic for the modern woman. My pick is the ivory color- it's the perfect neutral shade to take you from winter into spring!

TWO| Gold Script Ring $39.99
Such a sweet and classic design, this ring is one of those "heritage" pieces that will be worn for many years going forward.

THREE| Plaid Spirit Jersey $39.99
There is no denying that "spirit jerseys" are pretty much the "it" loungewear item from the modern prep- so why gift your favorite sassy girl this cute plaid version? I know my sister (a college freshman) would LOVE this under the tree!

FOUR| Stainless Steel Tumbler $34.99
Know a busy gal on the go? Or someone addicted to coffee (i.e: everyone I know!)? This is such a useful gift and a cute one to boot! I loved this white tumbler with the pink monogram, but you can literally mix and match any color combo to personal for your best girl!

FIVE| Tassel Keychain $12.99
I know, I know, if you're anything like me you already have SO many keys on your keychain. But to that I say... add one more! I think this is a great teacher gift, hostess gift, or a sweet idea for your co-workers (keep in mind I work with all women!) :) At under $15 it's budget friendly and fun!

SIX| "G" Gold Letter (lots of options!) $18/each
I love the idea of picking up three letters (to make your favorite gal's monogram) and giving it as a set! How cute would this be for a young girl headed to college (#DormDecor) or even a sweet baby girl's nursery? One of my best friends doesn't have a middle name, so this is also a great way to personal something with just her first and last initial.

SEVEN| Plaid Blanket $44.99
Although a lot of the country is experiencing a much warmer fall than usual, there is no doubt that winter is coming friends and this is such a great, cozy gift to give! I always keep extra blankets around my house for chilly nights, or if I have guests over (I mean no one wants to share blankets- ha!).

EIGHT| Black and White Mug $15
If you know someone who prefers to curl up and sip their coffee at home, why not help them do it in classic black and white style? This would make a great teacher or caregiver gift, or fill it with k-cups and gift it to your boss!

NINE| Excursion Vest $34.99
You can't turn anywhere these days without seeing a preppy girl in an excursion vest, so why not help your favorite gal stand out from the crowd in a monogrammed version? Love the sweet detailing & that the price point remains so much less than designer versions on the market!

TEN| Tortiseshell Bracelet $88
Tortoiseshell is one of my favorite jewelry neutrals since it really matches everything in your closet! This would be a great gift from a mother to a daughter- how sweet if you got matching pieces? And if tortoiseshell isn't your thing- there are several other color choices!

ELEVEN| Jack Roger Sandals $168
While this is a little bit more of an "investment" gift, if you have a palm beach gal in your life then you know this is a gift she will treasure for years!

TWELVE| Script Earrings $32.19+
To me, these earrings just scream "classy & fabulous" and Santa, if you're reading, I would sure love them ;)

Whew! This was a doozy y'all! But If you can't tell I LOVE the holiday season and I'm so excited for Girl Meets Bow to become your one-stop-shop for all things holiday season! :)

PS- Who else was up way too late watching election coverage?? What a historic night! It's hard to believe that it's finally over and now we just wait until we do it all over again in 4 years! ha! :)

We all have those friends that are hard to shop for, and girls can be especially difficult when picking the right gift. However, in my opinion, you can't quite go wrong with any of these gifts if you're buying for anyone twenty-one or older. There are nine gifts on this list and although most are targeted towards the ladies, some of these gifts could also be given to men in different colors. So if you have any friends that enjoy some fun, this is definitely the blog for you.

1. Cocktail Shaker

You can never go wrong with a cocktail shaker. With a limitless variety available for purchase, this is a staple item for any party. You've got your basic cocktail shaker, recipe cocktail shaker, and if you're really feeling ambitious or are entertaining guests, you've even got large cocktail shakers available to buy. For the ladies out there that want to jazz their cocktail shakers up, there are plenty of available options out there with various colors and styles. All of the links above can work for men or women but cocktail shakers can come in all sorts of patterns and colors!

2. Personalized Wine Cork

Keep your wine safe with a wine cork that has a little more class. Due to the engraved monogram on the cork, you can probably guess this is a Marleylilly item. This steps up your wine game a whole lot!

3. Flask

This particular flask is the pattern beverage flask from Marleylilly. However, Marleylilly also offers engraved drinking flasks, pink beverage flasks, and stainless steel drinking flasks. A flask is a great gift for a party "on the go" and works for men or women as a fun personalized gift.

4. To Go Wine Cup

Glass breaks. An insulated cup keeps your wine ready to go whenever you need a sip. Not only is it sturdy, but it's portable. This particular wine cup is called Vino 2 Go and is available to purchase at Francesca's. Personally I believe this is a terrific idea because it's safer against spills, keeping your clothes nice and safe.

5. Solo Cup

Behold, the classic solo cup. However this cup has a plot twist of it's own, it's not flimsy plastic! This 14 oz cup is made of melamine and as I'm sure you guessed, available atMarleylilly. This item is our party cup and it's available in multiple different color schemes and patterns. You can customize it to you! The terrific thing about this cup is that in the long run you'll most likely save money. Instead of buying multiple packs of solo cups, you can buy one cup that will last. You can also take this cup with you wherever you go. Sounds like a great gift to me!

6. Solo Cup Shot Glasses

Yes, I'm actually suggesting more solo cup related gifts. Similar to the solo cup before this, these are reusable but still keep the classic "party" feel. A great gift for ladies or for men, they're cheap and they serve their purpose well. This particular set of ceramic shot glasses can be found at Francesca's and hold 2 oz. When you're done, just throw them in the dishwasher to prep for round 2!

7. Portable Wine Cooler

This is the coolest concept ever. With this bag multiple wine bottles are able to be transported while staying cool and safe from breaking. The comfortable strap makes it easy to carry on your shoulder and there's enough space for six bottles (or more if you try hard enough). This particular bag is available at KegWorks but similar bags can be found all over the internet!

8. Wine Tumblr

Although this wine cup is somewhat similar to the Vino 2 Go cup, you can't have too many cups to hold your wine in! This durable plastic cup is 13 oz. and available at Marleylilly and comes in a variety of colors and patterns. It even comes with a straw for easy drinking! Last but not least, you can top it all off with your monogram. What's not to love?

9. Instant Wine Chiller

This is probably the best item on the list. Instead of actually chilling your wine all you have to do is place this chiller on top and pour your wine. The wine is cooled off as it passes through the chiller so your wine is the perfect temperature. This instant wine chiller is available to purchase at UncommonGoods and is a pretty awesome investment. Never again will you have to wait on the fridge to do the work for you!

While all of the gifts on here are great for a party, just remember to use them wisely and drink responsibly! Whether you're a man or a woman, these items can work for you, or as great gifts for someone else (hopefully to share with you). If you aren't of drinking age, give these as gifts to mom and dad in the hopes that they'll pass them down to you! Or, just visit marleylilly.com in a few years when you're finally legal. We hope you liked each and every one! Comment below with any more suggestions you may have.

Happy December! This is my first ever gift guide and I thought I would do a little something different, that's also consistent with some of the questions I have been getting in my Tumblr ask box lately.  I also may be in denial that I only have about 10 days left as a college student, so here are some gifts that I think would be useful for any college girl!
1. Bedding
Especially for the incoming freshman, this might be good to ask for if you have your eye on a certain bed set already like this one from Kate Spade or this one from Lilly Pulitzer for Garnet Hill!
2. Wall prints- "wear sequins to breakfast" | outfit details | flowers
Make your dorm or apartment pretty with prints from places like Design Darling, History in High Heels, andAmanda Catherine Designs
3. Laptop case
Basically a necessity for bringing your laptop around campus, and traveling back home for breaks. I've had one like this one that lasted me for all of college.
4. Portable phone charger
It's always nice to have a little charge on the go
5. Keurig
If you only get one kitchen appliance in college, let it be this one. My grandmother got me one right before I went back to school for my sophomore year and it has probably been used everyday since then. The mini one is great for small kitchens!
6. Travel mug
Trust me, you will need a few of these if you make your own coffee or tea. I also love this one from Kate Spade, and this one from Lilly Pulitzer!
7. School bag
I've always liked tote bags more than backpacks, but this backpack is nice too!
8. Wristlet
Perfect for just going to the dining hall or a friend's room or apartment when all you need is your phone, keys, and school ID.
9. Rain jacket
The best for when your class is across campus and it just won't stop raining.
10. Snow boots
If you go to school up north these are a must have. I love my shearling lined Sperry for J. Crew boots. My feet are too small for LL Bean boots that I've heard are great and see everywhere, but I've also had a pair like this from Sperry that I've liked as well.
Thanks for reading!
