Cardigan, Similar Here and Here // Tee // Denim // Black Loafers // Katie Dean Jewelry Layered Necklace  // Belt // Sunglasses

Unfortunately I can’t wear jeans to work, but for those of you who are in the same boat as me you can just switch the jeans out for black slacks!  And for those that can wear denim to work, I’m a bit jealous ðŸ˜‰ .  I have also showcased this necklace from Katie Dean Jewelry on my Instagram for the past couple of weeks.  All of their products are precious, gold, and dainty – I also love that I can layer their necklaces with pieces that I already have! (If you’re new here the “A” necklace that I never take off was a gift from my grandparents.  It belonged to my great grandmother so it’s super sentimental).
Have all of you watched the Ted Bundy Tapes on Netflix yet?! I started watching Saturday night and finished them up on Sunday.  It was a little slow in the first episode but after that it really picks up!  I don’t want to spoil it, but the man escapes twice, commits more crimes while he was on the run, and gets his wife pregnant on death row.  It’s also so interesting to watch him eat up the attention both during interviews and while on trial, it’s almost sickening.  If you at all find murder documentaries interesting it’s definitely worth a watch!

Another week has flown by and I can't believe it's almost the weekend (in T minus 3 hours for us, when Zach gets home and we celebrate big time)! I told Z yesterday that while I feel so incredibly happy and blessed with our new family of four, I also feel like I'm struggling to get things done and adjust to our new "normal". My emails rack up to an overwhelming number before I can find the time to answer them, my to-do list keeps getting things added faster than I can mark anything off, and I haven't cooked a meal or taken a walk in two months because I simply can't find the time. I know we will adjust with time and I'll find a balance that works, but at this moment we call it a successful day if Bear isn't more than 15 minutes late to school and I remember to go pick him up. At the end of the day, though, I look at my boys and my heart feels like it could burst. I love being their Mommy more than anything and it's worth every struggle and Sonic run.

In the world of fashion, there are so many styles that I'm obsessed with right now. I've also purchased approximately 87 swimsuits in the past month because I'm dying over all the swim styles right now- high waisted and pom poms FTW. Here are some more trends I'm loving!

1. These sunnies. You've seen me wear these a ton already and I #cantstopwontstop because I love them, no pun intended. They are a great dupe for this designer pair and $10 vs. $508? No brainer on the dupe!
2. Polka dots. My inner 90's child is fired up about the polka dots we're seeing everywhere right now; I can't get enough of them, both big and small. You're going to be seeing a lot more on the blog soon because I just got in some fun polka dot sets I'll be shooting next week!
3. Comfy sandals. This is nothing new, as this is my shoe of choice every spring and summer but this year especially I am living in my Tory Burch Miller Sandals. I have them in "sand patent" but my next choice is "makeup" that I plan on getting sometime before summer. If you're getting a pair for the first time, I recommend one of these two nude shades that will match everything and elongate your legs! Also size a full size up- I'm normally a size 6 and I wear a 7 in these.
4. Wrap dresses. Dresses like the one I'm wearing above are flattering on all shapes, timeless so you can wear them for years to come, and nursing-friendly for breastfeeding mamas like myself. I love the ruffle details so many of them have right now- I've had my eye on this one from Nordstrom for weeks now and I think I'm finally gonna take the plunge (more polka dots, too!).
5. Two-piece sets. This trend started getting big last year but has only snowballed; now you can find adorable two-piece outfits in almost any store you walk into. I just got in some that I love and can't wait to wear! This one and this one are my favorites.

Boone is currently taking a good nap despite Bear being loud and crazy, so we're gonna keep riding it out and try and get some things done! I'm hosting a baby shower from my friend Aimey tomorrow and have a few things left to do- can't wait to celebrate her baby boy!

When I was researching what to wear to the Masters I had the hardest time finding any recommendations. I found a few pictures on Pinterest but didn’t have much to go off of. It seemed like no one could recommend what to wear, so as a first-time spectator I am here to help! Below are some tips on what women should wear to the Masters.

I’m not a big golfer, to be honest, I know nothing about golf, so I spent a lot of time people watching since I didn’t have my phone. During my time people watching I saw 3 different types of women at Augusta National.

  1. Serious Golfers: You can tell the serious golfers right off the bat. They have their cute golf skirts, polos and/or pullover and sneakers on. They don’t care about anything but watching the tournament.
  2. Locals: These people have been to the Masters more times than you can count. They’re rocking cute chino shorts, sweater and likely an old Masters hat. This isn’t their first rodeo and they’re like there on business.
  3. Stylish Cuties: When walking through the parking lot I was like, “dang it, I’m for sure way overdressed.” However, as the day went on I saw more an more people dressed like me. There were a lot of Lilly Dresses and lot of seersucker, most of which were dressed down with hats or sneakers. Don’t get me wrong, I did get some strange looks from serious golfers, but we were both there for different reasons.

I loved my outfit! I felt like it was very me and very golf appropriate. We did a lot of standing, but we did buy chairs to sit, so I never had an issue wearing a dress. There’s also stand throughout the course, so rarely did I see someone sitting on the grass. I debated bringing a jacket or not but I am so glad I did because it was pretty chilly until about noon. Below are 5 things I definitely recommend wearing/bringing.

  1. Sneakers: I saw a lot of girls wearing sandals, but we did SO much walking I’m so glad I went with sneakers. It also rained the night before so sneakers were helpful to avoid any muddy areas (which were minimal because of the immaculate grounds).
  2. Light Jacket: Like I mentioned it was chilly in the mornings, so I was happy to have some coverage to keep me warm.
  3. Small Purse: The Masters is VERY strict, so a small crossbody bag is ideal. All bags must be no larger than 10″W x 10″H x 12″D. A crossbody is the best option due to all the walking and standing, I didn’t want to have to have something to lug around.
  4. Hat: A hat was a must have for me, one because I was having an awful hair day, but two because it protected my scalp and face from the sun. The last thing I wanted was to get sunburned.
  5. Rain Jacket/Poncho: Small rainstorms are common this time of year, so you don’t want to be stuck outside in the rain stranded. I bought a cheap emergency poncho and just kept in my jacket pocket. Thank goodness I didn’t have to use it.

There are definitely different routes you could go down when choosing your outfit. Now that I’ve been once I’ll probably opt for something a little more casual if I get the honor to go again.

If you looked up the definition for ‘spring sun dress’, a photo of this darling little eyelet dress would have to be right there with it. I am obsessed with eyelet details, and there’s just something even more lovely about a crisp white eyelet outfit in the spring. It has the cutest ties on the shoulder and a pretty light blue scalloped hem. I got it from an adorable boutique called Sugarlips, where you can get a 15% discount on your purchase with my code ‘tristan15’. I just love the southern charm that this dress exudes, and it pairs so perfectly with my monogrammed straw tote bag!

I have already worn the heck out of this dress. If you follow me on Instagram, you may have seen that I just took a trip to Charlotte, NC with two of my friends (Lacey of The Glitter Gospel and Annie of Absolutely Annie). I wore this ALL DAY during one of the days we were running around town, and somehow it worked for every single place we went. I may have stuck out like a sore thumb among all the green on St. Patrick’s Day, but I felt oh-so lovely and that’s really all that matters!

Speaking of our Charlotte trip, I will have a travel guide up on the blog in the next couple of weeks that you will want to keep an eye out for if you are planning a trip to Charlotte. You guys – Charlotte is such a fun city with so much to do and see! I can’t wait to share more about where we went and what we experienced.

I just posted about these cute Lillian & Co. bracelets on Instagram and everyone seems to love them (including me, obviously)! There are lots of quotes to choose from, but I went with ‘Best Day Ever’ and ‘Go Live Your Dream’ because I think it’s the perfect positive reminder to keep with me throughout the day. Wouldn’t they make such sweet gifts for friends and family? Use my code ‘THEPOLISHEDPOSY’ for 10% off at Lillian & Co.

Sharing spring bags for After what seemed like a never-ending winter, spring seems to be arriving and I couldn’t be happier about it! I’ve been perusing my favorite online shops and buying some items for spring. As I’ve been perusing I’ve noticed one trend showing up everywhere: straw and bamboo bags! I always love a good straw bag in the spring and summer but I really like that they’re available at all price points this year. Today I’m rounding up a few of my favorites at all price points. A few are trendy “fun” bags, while others are tried and true spring/summer staples! It’s safe to say I really like all of them though *adds all to cart* haha!

ONE | TWO | THREE | FOUR | FIVE | SIX | SEVEN | EIGHT | NINE | TEN | ELEVEN | TWELVE | THIRTEEN

CULT GAIA ARK BAG DUPE (small size: $40, large size: $44) | The Cult Gaia bag trend is HUGE again this season. I think the bags are incredibly cool,  but I can’t personally justify the price for a see-through bag that I won’t carry very often. There’s a dupe for this bag that’s great and only a fraction of the price. I bought the large size and for the price it’s a great bag. Obviously the quality isn’t as good as the real deal, but it’s a great option for this trendy bag!

HAT ATTACK STRAW TOTE ($156) | I think I’ve featured this bag in one of my currently loving posts and I think I’m going to pull the trigger soon. I realize the price is a little steep for a straw bag, but this one is lined and has interior pockets, so it could easily be used as a beach bag or an every day bag during the warmer months.

MACRAME TOTE ($96) | This is such a fun option for a straw bag! The detailing on this bag is incredible and would be perfect for a tropical vacation! It would look adorable with a silk scarf attached to it for a pop of color.

SQUARE CROSS BODY STRAW BAG ($23) | First of all, you can’t beat the price of this bag! Second, I think this is such a cool bag for summer. Would be great when you just want to carry the essentials and need a more structured bag. Is it weird that it kind of reminds me of a picnic basket?!

STRIPED STRAW TOTE ($110) | This tote is the perfect size for vacation or a night on the town during spring! The stripes add a fun detail and (although it’s not show in the photo) it has a really cute tassel detail on it too!

STRIPED CROSS BODY BAG ($59) | Let’s pause a second to take in how freakin’ cute this bag is!!! Those bright stripes have me wanting to head to a warm destination ASAP. What I like most about this bag is the versatility. The bright stripes allow it to go with everything from a little black (or white) dress or a fun printed number. It can also be a clutch or a crossbody bag with the chic gold strap.

RAFFIA CROCHET TOTE ($99) | This is one of those classic bags that can taken anywhere from a day at the beach or dinner by the water. It’s great quality and can hold everything you’ll need. It also comes in 3 other colors in case you want to make a fun statement.

MIA CROSS BODY BAG ($48) | I have this clutch by the same brand and use it all the time during spring/summer but am always a little bummed because I’m stuck holding it all night. Well, my problems are now solved because it comes in a crossbody version now! This brand always has really high-quality items, so the fact that this bag is under $50 is amazing!

HALF MOON STRIPED BAG ($40) | Such a fun bag for any tropical vacation. It’s fully lined and can easily hold a beach towel and all the essentials.

CIRCLE BASKET TOTE ($49) | Circle totes are a big trend for spring, but some of them can run a few hundred dollars. I was shocked when I came across this circle tote…and even more shocked that it’s under $50!

ROUND HANDLE BAG ($105) | This is another bag from Hat Attack (because I love all of their stuff!) that I can’t get enough of recently. I like that it’s a bit more structured than some and the top handles are super convenient

UTILITY TOTE ($65) | Ok, so this isn’t a straw bag, but I am loving this lightweight utility tote. This is such a classic and versatile tote and I love the leather handles.

TASSEL TOTE ($350) | This bag is definitely on the pricey side and I’m not sure I would purchase this one because I wouldn’t get a TON of wear out of it. But if I lived in an environment where it was warm year round I would probably invest in this bag because it’s super cute and appears to be high quality!

Has anyone else realized that the weather is typically not what they say it will be? I feel like if it's a 90% chance of rain, there's actually a 90% chance it won't rain. Maybe that's just me, but it's something I have begun to notice a lot lately as it was supposed to rain the last two days and it never did. I'm not complaining, I'm all for bright, sun shining days!

Speaking of weather, this morning I heard the news talking about how we still have a couple of chilly weeks ahead, but I'm hoping that they are wrong and that it's actually going to be warm and beautiful because I have just found the cutest boutique, Marleylilly.

I don't know if you have heard of this company before, but I came across them a few months ago and have completely fallen in love (cue the heart eye emoji). Marleylilly is a boutique that sells a lot of monogrammed gifts. If you are from the South and love anything/everything with your monogram on it, then this is going to be your new favorite place to shop for yourself or gifts for others.

I am lucky enough to be able to collaborate with them and share my favorite spring picks from their new arrivals with you! Whether it's summer or winter, raining or snowing outside, Marleylilly has you covered in every way possible. So, without further adieu, let me introduce you to the most amazing boutique....

dress // monogrammed bag // shoes // yellow earrings // monogrammed sleeveless tunic // white pants // gold earrings // monogrammed rain jacket // straw bag

How cute is all of that?! I just can't get enough of it! It is making me dream of summer days headed to the beach or pool or for my next vacation ;) Let's hope it's to somewhere with clear water. But who isn't dreaming of that?!

You should check out the rest of their site, they have the cutest summer dresses, tops, bags & hats! They also have great gifts for soon-to-be brides, bridesmaids, or even a thank you to a friend, Marleylilly is a one-stop shop!

Enjoy!

Y’all know by now that nothing gets this southern girl’s heart racing faster than a well-placed monogram… so my heart is all kinds of aflutter over today’s post! Without a doubt, my go-to store for all things personalized has become Marleylilly; they always have the cutest on-trend pieces and then find a way to incorporate a monogram so seamlessly into the design. Gone are the days when your only option was you initials hot-stamped across your chest (although you can certainly rock that if it’s your thing!) now we basically have any option or design we want thanks to Marleylilly!

I was so excited to try out my first wrap/poncho today! I always see them & think that they just look so effortlessly chic, and as soon as I put this one on I felt like a total “lady who lunches!” I’ve totally been living in my white denim lately- surprising for a girl who until last year was too scared of ketchup stains to try them 🙂 Paired together they make a look that is pulled-together and perfect for weekend in style. It’s hard to see in the pictures but my sandals actually have a monogram too! And they come with two interchangeable centers so it’s like getting three pairs in one!

I’m smitten with this new color block rain jacket! Spring/summer in Florida = all the rain, so this is not only practical but perfect for making a rain shower that much more fun!

As Y'all are reading this I’m up, up & away and headed to NYC for jewelry market week! I’ll be in the big apple until Wednesday and try not to freeze my booty off! It’s only supposed to be in the low 40s as a high and snow is expected Wednesday. It’s going to be an adventure- that’s for sure! 🙂 Be sure to follow along on IG as I try to keep up in “real time” on stories!
