Productive Things To Do When You Are Bored
It’s so tempting to turn on the Netflix when you find yourself with free time. There are so many little things though that you could do in the same time as a Netflix episode that will make you feel so much better and caught up in life!
I’m realizing that free time is a rare commodity now a days so when I do have 30 minutes when I don’t have to be doing homework/ going to a meeting/ class/ or eating a meal I try my hardest to make those precious minutes count!
Clean out your computer // I try (keyword:: try) to keep everything super organized on my computer. I have every school year in a different folder than then each class inside those. It makes everything soooo much easier to find and you’ll feel so much better when it’s done. My next task is to go through all the photos on my computer…..
Clean out your closet // My mom used to make me go through my closet once a month and get rid of anything I didn’t wear/ didn’t like any more to free up space and to give to goodwill. If you haven’t worn something in a while and you know you’re probably never going to wear it in the near future, give it to a good cause!
Write a note to a friend // Oh how I wish I could do this more often. I have so many friends at schools across the country and I wish I could write little notes to them more often!
Take a walk // My roommate and I have decided that this spring we want to do this more. I feel like I need to take advantage of Furman’s beautiful campus and walk around the lake more! It’s great to clear your head and gain some clarity (especially when you’re stressed!). This is perfect because you take a 10 minute walk or 30!
DANCE // turn on some fun dance songs and get out some energy! My roommate and I may or may not do this before we go to bed on occasion… (see our fav dance tunes here!)
Go through the pictures on your phone // Isn’t the “cannot take photo” notification the most annoying thing ever?! Before this school year I back up all my photos on my phone to my computer and just completely clear my phone. Somehow my phone is already full again and I have a feeling I need to do this again….like soon.
Write a thank you note // I always feel behind in the category. So many thank you notes, so little time. Just take it one at a time! It’s such a sweet gesture that make more of an impact than you think!
Clean out your car // I try to keep my car somewhat clean. I’m not one of those people who keep a wardrobe in the back seat of my car. It always feels so much better once your car is spiffy clean and there’s no unnessccary clutter in there!
Call a friend you haven’t spoken to // It’s so fun to catch up with friends from high school or childhood who you haven’t talked to in a while. I love hearing what everyone has going on in their lives and the awesome things they have accomplished! Even if I don’t have time to call someone, sometimes I’ll just sent them a quick “hello” text!
