Apartment Sneak Peek

by - Friday, August 04, 2017

I hope everyone had the best 4th of July ever! We had a small cookout with family and friends and then headed over to our local fireworks. It was a perfect laid back night filled with lots of yummy food and lots of red, white, and blue!

My mom and I took a very quick trip down to my new apartment last week! It's an adorable one bedroom within biking distance of most of my classes. Unfortunately it's not furnished and after living in campus housing for the last 4 years we realized I'm going to need some furniture to fill it. I'm trying to find a balance between buying cheap pieces but also not buying furniture that will fall apart after the first year. I'm not sure where I'll be moving after my grad program ends next fall so I want things that can be versatile and move with me!

I'm using a lot of things from my prior apartments/ dorms like all my bedding and bedroom furniture but at Furman a lot of the standard furniture (like a couch) was provided to us from the school so I'm going to have to purchase a few new pieces!

Print | Chair | Side Table | Mirror | Bow Chair | TV Stand | Lamp (found at local HomeGoods)

I'm planning on decorating with a lot of different prints I already have and maybe adding a piece or two of art to my collection. Our neighbors were giving away an old chair away so I gladly took it and picked out this blue dotted fabric to recover it in. I think it will look perfect in my living room and add a pop of color, especially if I pick out a natural color couch.

The cute scalloped side tables are from Target and will go perfectly next to my bed...which speaking of beds I still need to get. I ordered this stand up mirror (I've always wanted one!) for either my bedroom or living room from Amazon.

We splurged on this desk chair and I think it will be a show stopper. I have a feeling I'll be spending a lot of time at my desk so I wanted something that would be equally cute and comfortable. We ordered this cute little mirrored TV stand from Target and it's even cuter in person! Lastly, I have two ginger jar looking Ralph Lauren lamps that I found at HomeGoods. They have had sooo many lately so I suggest checking your local store.

Things I still need to get/ find:
- A coffee table (going to look at a flea market this Friday to try to find one I can paint!)
- A mattress/ maybe a headboard (?)
- Bar Stools (I won't have a dining table so I'll probably get most of my meals at the counter)
- A Couch
- Rug for the living room
- Extra long shower curtain (didn't even know those existed!!!)

Let me know if you have any cute (and cost effective) pieces that I could add!

Remember,

xoxo
